Ms. Reis joined Robert C. Gottlieb and Associates in September 2020 after working as a public defender for six years at The Bronx Defenders in the Bronx, New York. During her years as a public defender, she represented hundreds of clients whose cases proceeded to hearings, trial, and before the Grand Jury. Ms. Reis has represented clients charged with the most serious felonies including attempted murder, serious assault, rape, gun possession, robbery, burglary, drug trafficking and possession, and fraud. In addition to her trial experience, Ms. Reis developed a zealous motion practice as a public defender to protect her clients’ constitutional rights at all stages of criminal proceedings. Ms. Reis is a graduate of the Trial Practice Institute at the National Criminal Defense College.
Prior to working as a public defender, Ms. Reis worked at a law firm concentrating in civil litigation. She spent law school summers working at the Vermont Defender General, the Vermont state public defense office. Ms. Reis earned her law degree at the University of London, Queen Mary College. During law school, she worked at Queen Mary's Legal Advice Center, providing free legal advice to East Londoners nightly. Ms. Reis holds a double major Bachelor’s degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
