Ethan Van Buren joined Robert C. Gottlieb & Associates in 2022 as an associate attorney. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Van Buren clerked for the Honorable Lois Bloom, Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of New York. There, Mr. Van Buren worked on criminal and civil federal cases involving terrorism, civil rights, labor and employment law, and many other practice areas.

Mr. Van Buren earned his Bachelor’s Degree at New York University and his Juris Doctor at the University of California – Los Angeles School of Law where he served on the UCLA Law Review and UCLA Criminal Justice Law Review.  As a clinical student Mr. Van Buren appeared on the record in Los Angeles County Superior Court to argue for a reduction in bail for clients charged with felonies, securing his client’s release in one instance. Mr. Van Buren was also part of team which successfully argued to the Court of Veterans Appeals for an increase in their client’s disability benefits.
